Impressive quarter plate-daguerreotype of an intense gentleman deep in thought.  Posed sideways in his chair he seems to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders.  We would love to know what he is thinking.  He is dressed in a delightfully stylish outfit that is quite different than the formal black jacket, vest and pants we normal see.  We admire his bold fashion choice of the white vest and lighter wool pants.  This sharp image is in very good plus condition with gorgeous tones and contrast.  There are a few scattered spider spots.  We have resealed the plate with a new glass and it is housed in a full leather case with a gorgeous vibrant green velvet pad on the inside.  This is one cool image that everyone can enjoy!
